On October 31, 2012, Dr.Thomas Bogdan, UCAR President, wrote an open letter to the weather enterprise community about the concept of a U.S. Weather Commission.  In that letter, he invited members from the public, private and academic sectors to submit their comments, opinions and guidance about this proposed idea.  The comment period was from October 31, 2012 through March 3, 2013.
